Sorry there has been an epic lack of posts since I started this blog, I'm coming towards the end of my HND in Business Management and I am swamped with my dissertation and stuff.
Stay with me though because in a couple of weeks time (after I've finished my proposal, Personal Development Plan and have applied for a shit tonne of teaching assistant jobs (I REALLY need to get out of Co-op)) I plan to start posting some of the projects I've been finishing off and get into this blog a bit more.
But yeahh this is just to say, I'm not neglecting this blog, I'm just taking a short break while I get my life sorted :)

Ill times :(
I've had the dreaded lurg lately so literally no knitting has been done. Not good so close to Christmas and I still have presents to finish. Luckily I haven't got too much to do, just to finish off a tablet cover and a ruffle scarf, should be nice and easy. So that is my plan of action for tomorrow. KNIT KNIT KNIT.
I also need to block the shawl for my (future) mother in law. This should be interesting as I used an unidentified yarn. This is where my Mom comes to the rescue :) but yeah expect pictures when it is done :)

Awkward Times
So does anyone else do this thing where they end up staring at people in knitted items?!
As a knitter I find myself transfixed by pretty knitted items which leads me to committing the social faux pas of staring at someone in public. This is made even more awkward by the fact that I work in a shop, so when I'm serving people I end up staring at them rather than actually serving them.
The other day for example I was completely transfixed by the cabling on this ladies jumper and it took me a good minute and a half to realise I had been staring at her boobs! Thankfully I don't think she noticed!
I either do that or end up drooling and complimenting people I don't really know which is sometimes taken really well but sometimes I just come across as a total weirdo.
Anyone else do this, or is it just me???

Introductions and all that ^-^
Hi, I'm Samm.
I figured I should introduce myself. Just to let you know I'm absolutely useless at these so I hope this is ok.
I'm 20 years old, living in Bromsgrove, in the Worcestershire area, with my wonderful (yarn addiction supporting) fiancée Dann. I currently work part time but I am hoping to start an accountancy apprenticeship next year maybe, still trying to decide. Oh and I am currently working towards a HND in Business Management.
Right that's all the boring stuff done with. I'm quite new to knitting, only been knitting for about a year and a half now with some very mild dabbling into crochet (basically due to the fact I'm rubbish at crochet and find knitting much easier. I envy all you crocheters!!). My Mom taught me how to knit after about 17 years of me nagging her to do so and a knit your own Eeyore kit sitting in her wardrobe for that time (which btw she has still not finished and it was meant to be given to me for my 19th birthday).
I currently have a Tumblr if any of you want to go have a look-see it's www.a-nerd-that-knits.tumblr.com and I am of course on Ravelry as Sammwich22.
So yeah this blog is basically going to be information on my current WIPs, projects, patterns I'm absolutely in love with, yarn reviews and general rants and raves. Hope y'all enjoy!!
